Today the App-V 5 beta was released by Microsoft. Quite a surprise, as only some weeks ago App-V 4.6 SP2 beta was released. Look here for download info:
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/business/archive/2012/04/04/introducing-ue-v-and-app-v-5-0.aspx?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
The download was just under 100 MB and contained the following installers:
1 App-V Client
2 App-V Client for RDS
3 App-V Sequencer
4 App-V Server
And version 5 has a lot of new things. To name a few:

Today Microsoft released App-V 4.6 SP2 beta. As to be expected – a whole new version, App-V Next/App-V 5 is coming at the end of the year – this release has no big new changes. The real difference between this release and the previous SP1 is that it now supports Windows 8.

For one of my customers I was asked to build a new Win7-image which would be used in SCCM for operating system deployment. I had done this before several times, so I was not expecting any true problems. But I was wrong.
After I created a reference pc, I had created a unattend.xml file with the CopyProfile=true option, because I had a change, which I would like to be implemented into the default profile. See here for more info about CopyProfile:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973289/
Then I started the sysprep using the following commandline:
C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\sysprep.exe /oobe /generalize /unattend:C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\unattend.xml
After some minutes I received an error telling me that sysprep was not successful. I found some info in the setuperr.log file:
“…error 0×715 occured while querying the configuration of the service tsusbhub…” Lees meer (0 reacties)
